Family Engagement
Building Up to Kindergarten is a collaborative program series with Allen Park Elementary schools that runs throughout the school year before your child begins Kindergarten. There is a part 1, 2 and 3, each one hosted at each of our three elementary schools. It is designed so that you attend all three events and gain different understanding and skills to support your child as you prepare for Kindergarten. You will receive free materials for your child at each event. You may be an Allen Park resident who will attend our schools, OR you may be a family interested in applying for school of choice and wanting more information about our schools and Kindergarten readiness. Your child may attend any preschool, all incoming Kindergarten students are welcome!
After these 3 events, all registered students will attend the fourth and final Kindergarten readiness event… Kindergarten Round Up! You will attend that at your home elementary school and receive all the details once you register for Kindergarten. Kindergarten registration opens on March 1, 2026 and Kindergarten Round up is on May 11.
